Introduction

In today’s fast-paced world, many of us yearn for clarity, purpose, and fulfillment. As believers, we often feel a disconnect between what we hear in church and what we experience in daily life. Why is this? It’s because many of us are not living in the fullness of the Kingdom message that Jesus Himself proclaimed.

The truth is: you were born for the Kingdom. This truth is foundational to understanding your identity, purpose, and destiny. Let’s unpack this together.

We Are Called to Speak the Language of Kings

When we tune our hearts and minds to the frequency of the Kingdom, everything changes.

As Jesus said to His disciples in Matthew 13, “Blessed are your eyes because they see, and your ears because they hear.”

The Kingdom message is not about religion or tradition. It’s a life-altering revelation of who we are in Christ and the inheritance we share as children of God. Yet, for over 1,500 years, many churches have focused on religion, rules, and telling stories about Jesus rather than teaching the Gospel of the Kingdom.

This shift has left many believers stuck—attending church regularly but still feeling defeated, hopeless, and unfulfilled. Why?

  1. We aren’t being taught about the Kingdom we inherit in Christ.
  2. Many hear the message but fail to seek deeper understanding. As Jesus explained in the parable of the sower, some seed falls on rocky soil or gets choked by thorns. It takes effort to dig deep and truly grasp the Kingdom’s mysteries.
  3. Religion distorts our identity. Many of us have been taught that our perfection and justification are far off, something we’ll only achieve in the distant future.

Your True Identity: Born of God

Here’s the truth the world cannot give you: you were born of God. This is your primary identity and DNA.

1 John 5:1 says, “Everyone who believes that Jesus is the Christ is born of God, and everyone who loves the Father loves His child as well.”

Genesis 1:26 declares that we were created in God’s image—not just as physical beings but as spiritual beings. The body you see in the mirror is merely an earthly vessel. Inside you is the real you—a spirit born of God, justified, immortal, and made in His likeness.

God Sees the Spirit, Not the Flesh

When God looks at you, He doesn’t see your external appearance or earthly imperfections. He sees the spirit within you, born of Him and redeemed through Christ.

This is why righteousness cannot come through works but only through faith. Religion often labels sins like smoking, drinking, or swearing as barriers to God, but God is not focused on these external behaviors. He is concerned with the content of your heart.

Does this mean we can live however we want? Of course not.

  1. Our choices have consequences. The Kingdom operates on the principle of sowing and reaping. Galatians 6:8 reminds us, “Whoever sows to please their flesh, from the flesh will reap destruction; whoever sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life.”
  2. Our flesh and spirit are in constant tension. Galatians 5:17 explains that the flesh desires what is contrary to the Spirit, and the Spirit what is contrary to the flesh.

Walking in the Spirit

So, how do we live as vessels of the Kingdom? By walking in the Spirit and not gratifying the desires of the flesh.

Galatians 5:19-21 warns us about the works of the flesh—adultery, jealousy, anger, drunkenness, and other destructive behaviors. These lead us away from the Kingdom’s fullness. In contrast, the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control (Galatians 5:22-23).

When we walk in the Spirit, we align ourselves with God’s will and reflect His character to the world.

The Power of the Kingdom in Your Life

The Kingdom is not a distant concept. It is here and now, within you. When you embrace your identity as a child of God, everything changes:

  • You find true fulfillment. The world cannot satisfy your deepest desires because you were not born of the world—you were born of God.
  • You walk in victory. No longer are you bound by sin, fear, or hopelessness. In Christ, you are more than a conqueror (Romans 8:37).
  • You live with purpose. As a vessel of the Kingdom, your life carries eternal significance.

Conclusion: Seek First the Kingdom

Jesus said in Matthew 6:33, “Seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.”

The Kingdom is not just a place; it’s a reality we live in when we align our hearts with God’s will. It’s time to move beyond religion and embrace the fullness of life in Christ.

Let this message inspire you to seek the Kingdom, walk in the Spirit, and live as the vessel God created you to be. You were born of God, justified, and made in His image. Now, step boldly into your identity and live the abundant life He has promised.

Be Blessed.

Barry.

  1. […] Let’s break it down. As humans, we tend to experience life in a physical way. We connect with people through what we can see, touch, and hear. But there’s so much more to us than what’s visible on the outside. (Also read: Vessels of the Kingdom: Discovering Your True Identity in Christ) […]
